In my early research (aka google searches) for homeschooling resources, I came across this site. Homeschool Horizons Magazine promises to be full of stories, support and ideas for Canadian homeschooling families. What’s more, they’re currently running an early subscriber blitz, ending June 30th. Of course, you can subscribe to the magazine anytime, the chances to win free gifts and get a discount won’t be there after June 30th. Oh, and each early subscriber gets a free ebook.
From what I’ve read on the website, the magazine used to exist years ago. Then the previous operators ended their run, and there was a hiatus. New people–Tony & Shannon Ratcliffe–took over and plan to relaunch in September 2011. There are many great resources & ideas floating around online, most of which apply to other countries. I’m excited to see things that are actually applicable and attainable for my family. Plus, a lot of the content promises to be written by fellow homeschooling families, which means they’ll be real life stories and real life advice.
Why don’t you mosey on over to the site right now and take a peek? The prizes look awesome, with a grand prize and three runner up prizes too. Don’t forget the free ebook for everyone. It’s “Humouring Skeptics” by Kathleen Forde Meyer.
