Tremors in the Desert

Apparently there was an earthquake early this morning. Of course I was sleeping. Finished packing and ran out with Jono. Went chasing hair products for the sisters. Didn’t find what they wanted. Went back to Berean, and finally bought a few things. Wanted to buy more, but when and who would I sing some of the songs with??

Zipped back and finished packing and loaded up. Off to the airport.

Long lineup. Couldn’t use the self check-in because of the infant. We did not have to pay for our “extra” bags. Thank God! Mom & Dad did though. Not cool.

Flight and Denver stop over was uneventful. Had to traipse across the airport to get to our gate though. At least we had the time.

Came back home to rain. Got in late. Went to bed at like 2 am. Gotta be up at like 7 am. And I work tomorrow? Yikes!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

Happy birthday to me!!!!!!!!! Of course the early bird to call is Auntie Joyce. Wayyyy to early, I was barely awake. LOL.

Had a quick brekkie, then headed out. Went to Tyler mall with the parents & Panda & Jono & baby. Then headed over to Ontario Mills again. Jono wasn’t finished with his shopping!

Took baby home for a non-existant nap. Drove Sherwin to the gym. Went back to Berean Christian store. Only had 20 mins to examine track titles. I’ll be back in the morning.

Zipped back home to change for the concert. Israel & New Breed. It was fantabulous!!! Loved every minute. Beautiful experience. Made me think a lot during the concert.

Still no birthday cake again. This is the 3rd time in a row.

Moaning & Groaning

Back to Loma Linda we go. It was 100 degrees plus. But I refused to complain too much. I’m not going to see this kind of heat back home. Might as well enjoy it now!

Ran a bazillion errands in the afternoon. Sweated galore. Not embarrassed to say that either, because everyone else was sweating too!

Threw my back out again! Owwwiiiieee!! This one really hurt bad. It’s gonna be a rough nite. Gotta sleep on an air mattress on the living room floor.

I’m Sleepy, Verryyy Sleeepyy….

Bye Angela. Good luck with Bermuda Customs! Jono awoke at 4 am to drive her to the airport. Of course Jamayia woke up too, and stayed awake until he came back! Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh! All 3 of us crashed hard after that!

Amanda woke me up at 10 am to announce that the housekeeper was there and we were banned from the upstairs. I didn’t get brekkie until 2 pm. Praise God—I had no migraine though!

Went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Margaret came too. They had the servers sing happy birthday to me.

Strolled around Paseo-Colorado mall for a bit afterwards.

Showered, washed & styled my hair in record time tonite.

Saw “The List” with Wayne Brady. Cute movie.

Venice Beach

Another easy start to the day. Mom & Auntie J took Jamayia for a stroll to the store.

Angela went back to Glendale Galleria to do more damage. I’m sure they rolled out the red carpet for her!

Spent some time out with Jono looking for a barber shop and hair place that was once there. But things can change in 2.5 yrs.

Opted for Venice Beach as our daily outing. All us young’uns & Dad. It was crazy hot—no breeze in site.

Na Na Na Na Na Na

Bye Patou!! We’ll miss you. He went back home today.

We split up today. Sherwin went to the gym (where else?!) Mom, Dad & Auntie Joyce went shopping down on Lake Ave. Jono, Jamayia, Amanda & Angela & me went to Glendale Galleria.

Shopping wasn’t productive for me at all! **sigh** This trip is turning out to be sad in that department. Angela, on the other hand, did very well. Shopping options & pricing isn’t too good in Bermuda, so this trip was very necessary for her.

Went home for Baby’s nap & food break. Gale took Amanda & Angela to Old Pasadena to shop. They stayed in Forever 21 for the entire 2.5 hrs. Came home with enuff bags however.

Celtics KILLED the Lakers. Moment of silence for Sherwin. Actually, make that moments of silence. He’s a die hard fan.

Heading West

Packed up the condo life. We only had it for 1 week. We were heading to Pasadena for the week, then back to Loma Linda on the weekend.

Nice, quick drive to Pasadena. Very loaded van though.

Chilled in the afternoon & early evening. Amanda, Sherwin, Angela & Patrick ditched us and went to Sunset Blvd & Rodeo Dr.

Jono, Jamayia & I strolled the new outdoor mall—the Americana at Brand. Très cute in the evening time. Very upscale shops, but a nice place to stroll and visit. It’s next door to the Glendale Galleria mall. So truly, all your shopping can happen in one spot!

Celebrations & Owwwieeesss

Happy Father’s Day, Jono. I love you. You’re a fantastic dad. You take such great care of Jamayia and enjoy it too! I never have to beg you for your help. She loves you tons. We’ll have to celebrate it later…

Threw my back out. Went to put Jamayia down for a nap, and was barely able to stand up. Felt a shooting pain and just limped out the bedroom. Not good.

Amanda’s convocation was very well organized. The gym was packed with people. She was the very last graduate to march in. She sang at the ceremony—surprise to most relatives!

Had a grad dinner at Claim Jumper. Wasn’t all that. The dessert was fantastic—a 6 layer chocolate cake. Yummm!! Half the table spent time in the bar/lounge area keeping tabs on the Lakers/Celtics game. Unfortunately, Lakers won.

Church Time

Visited Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church. YAY!! It was men’s day. Dr. Leslie Pollard preached.

Big lunch at the condo. Some cooked food, the rest catered. We ate well, and will be eating for days! Many invited guests didn’t show up.

No big afternoon nap for baby. She should crash hard tonite. She did have a mini-nap in the car. But with all the people in the condo, there was no way she’d sleep anyways.
