When God molded Adam, then Eve
He handcrafted them perfectly
In His image
Life in that garden home was perfect
The temperature ideal
No need for clothes
There was nothing to cover up
No shame
No sin
But
Ideal was shattered
A crunch resounded throughout the garden
Forbidden fruit was bitten
Suddenly eyes were opened
There was shame
Guilt
Embarrassment
Something
Something stark
So harsh about reality
About humanity
That the first urge was not to back-pedal
Not even to run from God
(Which they did soon afterwards)
It was to cover up
To erect some type of barrier
A shield
Anything they could grab
To try and hide from outside eyes
The turmoil that they felt inside
God created us bare
There was nothing between us & Him
He was free to walk with us
To talk with us
To hang out with us
We were open to His presence
We were accepting of His company
God’s presence is something we strive for
Sort of
We’ve grown into this role of hiding
From each other
Protecting ourselves, our hearts
Even from those we love most
And we do with same with Our Creator
We reveal ourselves in bits and pieces
Quickly
As though we’re flashers
Taking great efforts to expose only what we’re comfortable with
But He put us together
Yes, even in the womb
He hand-picked the parts of him and her
To create you
There is nothing He doesn’t know about you
The only thing He wants for you is
The best!
Nothing I do can will make Him love me more
Nothing I do can will make Him love me less
