Five Minute Friday: When Seasons Change

The first thing that came to mind was the “change” aspect of this week’s topic.  Many have seen that email forward that talks about friends being in your life for a reason or a season.  Life stages are sometimes described as seasons.
My point?  Life changes.  And change is okay.  We tend to balk at change, resist it and fight hard against it.  But switch up are good, healthy and they’re nothing new.
Jesus, when He walked on this earth, was only here for a season, a short time.  Less than 34 years.  And the main part of his ministry only happened for the last 3.5 yrs; a fraction of his lifetime.  But He didn’t question His heavenly Father.  Rather, Jesus stepped into His role and got right to work. I’m also reminded of John the Baptist.  His disciples were jealous of Jesus’ following.  John had to remind his boys time and time again that his main duties were to lead people to Someone else, not to attract all the attention for keeps.
So, it’s okay if there are different seasons in my life.  It’s okay if nothing stays the same.  I need to be willing to trust God’s leading.  I need to also launch into a new season with a heart full of willingness to just do whatever needs to be done.

Well, this was definitely a different kind of post for me.  But it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw today’s fmf topic.  Since I’m trying to be a more honest blogger, I went with my first thoughts, rather than sift my brain for something else to say.  If you’d like to play along:

1–Just write for five minutes flat.  Throw all caution, grammar, editing & second-guessing to the wind and just write freely for five minutes.  Set a timer; it helps.
2–Go visit, read and encourage someone else.  I was inspired by Lisa-Jo at The Gypsy Mama–thank you!  (or click on the button below)

great reminder. i continually accept that things change and there’s always a reason behind it.

That was so encouraging to read. Some days seems like I’ll always need to be reminded that things aren’t meant to stay still and unchanged in my life!

Thanks for writing that post. :) “It’s okay if nothing stays the same. I need to be willing to trust God’s leading.” I think those lines will be resounding with me for the better part of the year.
